Soaring over twenty feet above the concrete Story Circle, four steel spirals make their way connecting earth to sky using four different trajectories. The classic spirals represent progress, inspiration, unlimited possibilities and energy. Each ends at the timeless symbol of academic accomplishment, the mortar board; here a crimson mortarboard with a critter-tail tassel that says you graduate with Trapper Pride.
For all in the Northwest College community, Trapper Grad is a symbol of striving and accomplishment, community and pride, earth and sky. |
CommunityTrapper Grad attracts study groups, class meetings, ceremonies, prayer, inspiration, contemplation, and “I’ll-meet-you-at-Trapper Grad”

ContemplationOur sculpture’s iconic sundial form reminds us of our time here on earth. Its sun-point is centered on the Story Circle only once each year: at noon on graduation day. The sun meets the earth exactly here annually as we spin through our lives.

... and Funand, of course, mortar board “selfies."
