I stood in the airport as my daughter arrived home after six months on Semester at Sea. She and her then-boyfriend, now husband, ran into each others' arms. They were oblivious to anything else. I wanted to capture that moment of hearts uniting.
After several attempts that missed the mark, attempts that were more acrobatic than the combining of souls, I woke up one morning and realized my negative space style lent itself perfectly to the problem.
